The story of Porsche

What is Porsche?

Porsche is a German automobile with its headquarters in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg. Porsche specializes in high-performance sports cars, SUVs, and sedans. Porsche Automobil Holding SE owns a controlling interest in Volkswagen AG, which owns the business. The 718 Boxster/Cayman, 911 (992), Panamera, Macan, Cayenne, and Taycan are all contemporary Porsche models.

History of Porsche

Along with Adolf Rosenberger and Anton Pich, Ferdinand Porsche (1875–1951) created the Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH in 1931. The military versions of the Volkswagen Beetle, the Kübelwagen (52,000 produced) and Schwimmwagen (15,584 produced), became the focus of Volkswagen production during World War II.

The British seized control of the Volkswagen factory in KdF-Stadt in 1945, following the end of World War II. Ivan Hirst, a British Army major, was given control of the facility after Ferdinand lost his position as Volkswagen’s board of management chairman.

Porsche built Werk 2, an assembly facility, across the street from Reutter Karosserie in 1952. Porschestrasse, the main thoroughfare in front of Werk 1, the first Porsche building, is now in use. 1948 saw the road certification of the 356.

Coat of arms of Stuttgart

Porsche’s corporate identity is derived from the coat of arms of the Free People’s State of Württemberg, which had Stuttgart as its capital during the Weimar Republic of Germany’s 1918–1933 period.

Models

Porsche currently offers a variety of sports vehicles, from the Boxster roadster to their most well-known model, the 911. The Cayman is a coupé that resembles the Boxster in various ways. Porsche’s mid-size luxury sport utility vehicle is called the Cayenne (SUV). The Panamera, a high-performance luxury saloon/sedan, was introduced in 2009. Here are some of the models:

Porsche 911

The new Porsche 911 is the sum of its predecessors – and is therefore a reflection of the past and a vision of the future. The silhouette: iconic. The design: timeless. The technology: inspired by great racing victories and always one step ahead.

Porsche Cayenne Platinum

A new type of athlete in a new metal class. Any car that maintains its leading position as the sports car among SUVs with such undisputed authority deserves something truly special. That’s why we’ve given the Cayenne another makeover.

Porsche Macan GTS

As sports car manufacturers, we have this attitude in our blood. And we never stand still. We have driven the new Macan GTS in numerous tests on the racetrack so that in everyday life you can experience a new form of high performance. We have made it sharper to generate more endorphins.

Porsche Boxster

Spending time in the virtual world can be great fun. The only thing is, you can’t feel the wind against your skin as you accelerate through every twist and turn. The Boxster celebrates real life. Whether it is known as a design classic, a powerful mid-engine sports car or a pure-bred roadster – it does full justice to its famous predecessors, such as the356/1 or the 550 Spyder.

Porsche Taycan

The Taycan carries a legacy that is reflected by performance. The latest drive technology ensures that its performance can be repeatedly reproduced: two permanent-magnet synchronous motors (PSMs) catapult the Taycan Turbo S with up to 560kW (761PS) overboost with Launch Control from 0–100km/h in 2.8 seconds.
