What is Elixir

Elixir is a functional, concurrent programming language that is designed for building scalable and fault-tolerant applications.  Elixir supports features such as pattern matching, macro-based metaprogramming, and lightweight processes, making it ideal for building distributed, high-performance systems. It also includes a powerful set of libraries and tools, such as Phoenix for web development and Ecto for database integration.
