{"id":3588,"date":"2022-04-26T07:32:37","date_gmt":"2022-04-26T07:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.booksofall.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=3588"},"modified":"2022-05-25T08:37:39","modified_gmt":"2022-05-25T08:37:39","slug":"what-is-project-finance-for-permanence","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.booksofall.com\/pt\/what-is-project-finance-for-permanence\/","title":{"rendered":"What is project finance for permanence?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/PFP\">PFP<\/a> is defined as an approach or single initiative that secures important policy changes and all funding necessary to meet specific conservation goals of a program over a defined, long-term timeframe with the ultimate aim of achieving the ecological, social, political, organizational, and financial sustainability of that program.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>The PFP approach must incorporate each of the following components:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>A large-scale, specific, and charismatic conservation goal<\/li>\n<li>A conservation plan that details all activities to achieve and maintain the conservation goal<\/li>\n<li>A robust financial model that estimates full, long-term costs to achieve and maintain the conservation goal in perpetuity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>The five elements of sustainability<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Ecological<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The program must ensure the long-term health of an ecosystem. Geographic areas must be sufficiently large and well protected to maintain biodiversity, possibly including migration corridors for long-ranging species.<\/p>\n<h5>Social<\/h5>\n<p>Conservation areas in the program must be supported by those who live in or near them to secure a \u201clicense to operate.\u201d Such support typically comes from societal benefits the program provides (such as improved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.org\/encyclopedia\/ecosystem\/\">ecosystem<\/a> services), and the ability to provide continued economic opportunities in the region.<\/p>\n<h5>Political<\/h5>\n<p>A strong, high-level, sustained government commitment and good national governance are necessary to support program design and implementation across administrations.<\/p>\n<h5>Organizational<\/h5>\n<p>There must be institutions with the capacity to successfully design, execute, and monitor activities that contribute to the program\u2019s conservation goal.<\/p>\n<h5>Financial<\/h5>\n<p>There must be sufficient funds, and strong funds management and control processes to obviate the need for significant future fundraising for the specific conservation goals and activities of the PFP.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><iframe style=\"width: 100%; height: 600px; border: none;\" src=\"https:\/\/online.visual-paradigm.com\/community\/embedded-book\/securing-sustainable-financing-for-conservation-areas-xlr27oxf9\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":3590,"template":"","meta":{"_yoast_wpseo_title":"","_yoast_wpseo_metadesc":"Optimize your web marketing strategy with an attractive flipbook like this one.
