Django is a\u00a0free and open-source<\/a>,\u00a0Python<\/a>-based\u00a0web framework<\/a>\u00a0that follows the model\u2013template\u2013views (MTV)\u00a0architectural pattern<\/a>. It is maintained by the\u00a0Django Software Foundation<\/a>\u00a0(DSF), an independent organization established in the US as a\u00a0501(c)(3)\u00a0non-profit.<\/p>\n

Django’s primary goal is to ease the creation of complex, database-driven websites. The framework emphasizes reusability and “pluggability” of components, less code, low coupling, rapid development, and the principle of don’t repeat yourself. Python is used throughout, even for settings, files, and data models.
