From today on\u00a0Europeana Fashion<\/a>, fashions curators, academics, students and enthusiasts can discover and explore more than a million fashion images contributed by nearly 40 museums and fashion brand archives from 13 European countries.<\/p>\n

Europeana Fashion<\/a>\u00a0brings together an incredible wealth of content including historical clothing and accessories, contemporary designs, catwalk photographs, drawings, sketches, catalogues and videos from museums and archives across Europe, and provides a range of exciting new features for you to explore.<\/p>\n

Fashion lovers can now find exactly what they want\u00a0by tailoring the content by using new filters including designers, techniques, materials, and types of clothing. Europeana Fashion launches with new galleries curating the collection by themes, such as\u00a0fashion illustrations<\/a>,\u00a0sportswear<\/a>,\u00a0prints<\/a>, or\u00a0Haute Couture<\/a>, and\u00a0highlights by fashion experts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The collection also features exclusive editorial content, including blog posts and online exhibitions.<\/p>\n

The first,\u00a0Past to Present: Fashion Re-Interpretations<\/a>, explores the inspiration and influence of historical costumes on contemporary fashion.<\/p>\n

Europeana Fashion<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0a unique space showcasing the collections of heritage institutions giving you the opportunity to compare fashion movements and styles across time periods and regions across Europe. Contributing institutions include public museums, like the\u00a0Victoria and Albert Museum<\/a>\u00a0(UK),\u00a0Les Arts D\u00e9coratifs<\/a>\u00a0(France),\u00a0MoMu<\/a>\u00a0(Belgium), as well as fashion brand archives, such as the\u00a0Missoni archive<\/a>, the\u00a0Emilio Pucci Archive<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Museo Salvatore Ferragamo<\/a>, and archives of fashion photographers, as\u00a0Paul Van Riel<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Etienne Tordoir<\/a>, amongst many others.<\/p>\n

Previously hosted on an independent website, the collection has a new home on Europeana alongside\u00a0Europeana Art<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Europeana Music<\/a>.
