VSI Pascal also provides features (called extensions) that are not part of any standard. For portable code, limit your use of these extensions or isolate the extensions in separate modules.<\/p>\n<h4>Unextended Pascal Standards<\/h4>\n<p><strong>The unextended Pascal standards are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ansi.org\/\">American National Standard<\/a> ANSI\/IEEE770X3.97-1989 (ANSI)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iso.org\/home.html\">International Standard ISO<\/a> 7185-1989 (ISO)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>VSI Pascal accepts programs that comply to either standard. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/handwiki.org\/wiki\/VSI_Pascal\">VSI Pascal<\/a> documentation set, the term \u201cunextended Pascal\u201d applies to both the ANSI and ISO standards.<\/p>\n<p>VSI Pascal contains FIPS-109 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nist.gov\/standardsgov\/compliance-faqs-federal-information-processing-standards-fips#:~:text=are%20FIPS%20developed%3F-,What%20are%20Federal%20Information%20Processing%20Standards%20(FIPS)%3F,by%20the%20Secretary%20of%20Commerce.\">Federal Information Processing Standard<\/a>) validation support.<\/p>\n<p>The standards are divided into two levels of standardization: Level 0 and Level 1. An example of a technical difference between the Level 0 standard and the Level 1 standard is that Level 0 does not include conformant arrays, while Level 1 does.<\/p>\n<p>VSI Pascal has passed the validation suite for Pascal compilers. It received a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techtarget.com\/whatis\/definition\/class#:~:text=In%20object%2Doriented%20programming%20%2C%20a,ideas%20of%20object%2Doriented%20programming.\">CLASS<\/a> A certificate for both levels of the ISO standard as well as the ANSI standard.
