Remember that food manufacturers and retailers are making a <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">profit on even the cheapest ready meals. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Buy own-brand goods.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The quality is generally the same as popular brands. If you plan your meals across the week, you won\u2019t buy food that gets <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">wasted.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Compare prices and know how much you can spend.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">There are lots of websites <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">where you can compare the cost of food at different supermarkets<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Beware of offers.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Only buy offers such as \u2018buy one get one free\u2019 if you are certain you <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">will eat both or are able to share the extra one with a friend.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Choose your fruit and vegetables carefully.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Don\u2019t buy fruit and vegetables that are <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">overly ripe unless you are sure that you will use them quickly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Buy frozen fruits and vegetables if you have a freezer or will use them on the day <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">you buy them.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">It\u2019s often cheaper to buy frozen fruits and vegetables.
