Unlike traditional textbooks, LibreTexts\u2019 web based origins allow powerful integration of advanced features and new technologies to support learning.<\/p>\n

The LibreTexts mission is to unite students, faculty and scholars in a cooperative effort to develop an easy-to-use online platform for the construction, customization, and dissemination of OER content to reduce the burdens of unreasonable textbook costs to our students and society. The LibreTexts project is a multi-institutional collaborative venture to develop the next generation of openaccess texts to improve postsecondary education at all levels of higher learning by developing an Open Access Resource environment. The project currently consists of 14 independently operating and interconnected libraries that are constantly being optimized by students, faculty, and outside experts to supplant conventional paper-based books. These free textbook alternatives are organized within a central environment that is both vertically (from advance to basic level) and horizontally (across different fields) integrated.<\/p>\n

Alrededor de 427 millones de personas en todo el mundo hablan espa\u00f1ol como su lengua materna, haciendo al espa\u00f1ol la segunda lengua m\u00e1s hablada en el mundo.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan el censo de los Estados Unidos, en este pa\u00eds 55 millones de personas se consideran hispanos. De \u00e9stas, aproximadamente 35 millones hablan el idioma espa\u00f1ol.<\/p>\n

El significado de la palabra hispano es que una persona habla espa\u00f1ol o proviene de un pa\u00eds en donde se habla este idioma oficialmente. \u00bfPuede considerarse que los 20 millones de personas que no hablan espa\u00f1ol son hispanos?<\/p>\n

En Estados Unidos, la palabra \u2018\u2018hispano\u2019\u2019 es usada para referirse a personas de 21 pa\u00edses diferentes, con historias y culturas distintas. \u00bfQu\u00e9 tienen en com\u00fan estas personas para poder conformar un solo grupo?<\/p>\n

De acuerdo a un estudio reciente, de los 55 millones de hispanos en los Estados Unidos, s\u00f3lo al 24% le gusta el t\u00e9rmino \u2018\u2018hispano\u2019\u2019 o \u2018\u2018latino\u2019\u2019 para identificarse. La mayor\u00eda de las personas de origen latinoamericano prefiere identificarse por su nacionalidad, y solamente un 23% de quienes nacieron en Estados Unidos prefiere llamarse \u2018\u2018estadounidense\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
